VanEss Expressions is a very small family business in Minnapolis Minnesota, creating individually handcrafted wood gifts, home decor and home furnishings items. Since each item we make is a one-of-kind, rarely will you every see a quantity of more than one for any item, and even so - there will be slight differences. Thus, we do a lot of custom work - that item, but with this wood'; 'a cross between this piece and that'; etc.

When an item sells, it is immediately removed from inventory and any reference numbers, pictures, etc. disappear from the website. We try to keep a variety of our our more popular pieces in stock and replace sold items with similar as soon as possible - but you never know what the next person might want. You may see an item one day, and it's gone the next.

We don't think our customers should have to 'settle' for something that is not quite what they want, or have to wait - hoping something similar will show up. Also, many people see an item they like, but it isn't in the right color, shape or size to fit in with their particular home decor, or they would like it customized some other way.

To alleviate this, we display some of the different items that have been offered in the past, here in our 'Gallery'. This way, if you can't find exactly what you are looking for in our in-stock items, you can place a Special Order by referencing the item shown here and noting any revisions or special requests. Of course we are not going to display all the pieces that have sold over the years - but we do try to show a variety of designs and options, to give you an idea of what types of items are available thru a Special Order.

But, please understand, these items are NOT available for immediate shipment, and the order must come in thru a Special Order. And, since each peice is custom made to your specifications - prices are determined after we see what you want.

We have tried to catagorized our in-stock items several different ways; by type- though so many could easily be placed in more than one category, by wood - but here are so many combinations, etc. Here, in our Gallery, we have decided to categorize first by where the item would be found in your home - on a desk, mantel or table - on a wall - or on the floor (furniture type items). And, like our in-stock items, furniture and larger items would only be available in the Minneapolis area.

If you live in the Minneapolis area, we make a variety of larger, handcrafted home furnishings items like unique accent tables, original floor mirrors, larger manel clocks, unusual table groupings, etc. Even though we do have a few sample pieces in stock, these items are almost always a custom order. Please remember, these items are not available for delivery outside the Minneapolis area.
